SunGard has launched AvantGard Business Process Management (BPM) for deductions and chargebacks in the order-to-cash cycle. The solution aims to provide enterprises a BPM solution with standard workflows they can configure to meet the requirements of managing high volumes.
AvantGard BPM also is designed to help suppliers more efficiently meet vendor compliance requirements and helps resolve problem invoices more quickly, according to SunGard’s AvantGard senior vice president of receivables solutions Jim Mangano.
“Corporations in industries such as consumer goods, medical devices and transportation experience a large number of complex deductions,” Mangano said in a statement. Many companies a hard time with the process workflows for managing these transactions, mostly because routing deductions and chargebacks across the supply chain can be very complex and involve many points of contact. SunGard’s latest solution can help those companies reduce the time and effort necessary to manage those deductions, he added.
Further complicating the problem is that companies are required to establish many different workflow streams based on any number of variables including items such as product line, sales area, type of deduction, amount, timeframe and more.
AvantGard BPM comes with pre-packaged workflows that can be configured to manage many complex routing situations including return merchandise authorizations, vendor compliance, errors in price or discount, quantity, tax disputes, freight charges, early or late shipments and missing or unexpected returns of goods, Mangano added.
It is also designed to help corporations discover process failures in the supply chain helping them to increase profits and cut operating costs, Mangano added, including interaction and approval requirements across manufacturing, shipping, sales and customer service.
AvantGard BPM was developed using SunGard’s Infinity Process Platform (a business process management platform), along with key standards-based BPM technologies.
