Talend Integration FactoryTalend, a global open source software company, has released the Talend Integration Factory, a production-ready distribution of the Apache Camel open source project that gives developers message mediation and routing capabilities.

In December, the company introduced Talend Service Factory, a repackaged distribution of Apache CXF, for the enterprise. And Talend has also successfully integrated Sopera, which it acquired last November, into the organization and has accelerated the development and production of application integration products, according to company officials.

“By addressing the primary challenges that developers face, namely access to low cost, powerful development tools that are stable, easy-to-use and fully supported, Talend Integration Factory is a significant step forward,” said Scott Devens, general manager of Talend’s Application Integration Division, in a statement.

Talend Integration Factory uses Enterprise Integration Patterns (EIPs) to make it easier for IT to implement message-based system integration, while making it more powerful and more scalable, Devens added.

Key features include:

  • Fully supported, production-ready. Based on the industry-leading open source integration framework. It comes pre-configured in a single installable package ready to deploy in environments including OSGi, Apache Tomcat, JEE servers and standalone JVM.
  • Lightweight, component-based architecture. Implements enterprise integration patterns and supports a broad set of protocols (HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, XMPP, RSS and more), data formats (EDI, JSON, CSV, HL7) and languages (Javascript, Python, Scala). It’s built on an extensible architecture, which means developers can easily add support for proprietary and custom data formats.
  • Real world implementation examples. Documented and based on real-world experience implementing integration solutions to help developers get started quickly.

Available now, Talend Integration Factory is integrated with Talend’s Data Integration solutions.
