MobilityPath is based on Avnet’s SolutionsPath method for capitalizing on specialized growth markets. “Avnet’s MobilityPath was created to help solution providers offer end-to-end mobility and collaboration solutions for the data center, leveraging software suites from industry-leading suppliers, such as IBM, Microsoft and Oracle,” Bennet Bayer, Avnet’s MobilityPath practice leader said in a statement.

It will initially focus on data center mobility, collaboration, workforce mobility, and automated identification and data capture (AIDC) solutions. The practice will also provide partners with domain expertise and education, as well as technical and market resources they need to enhance their expertise, Bayer added.

Avent’s MobilityPath practice offers the following resources:

  • Avnet MobilityPath University A training curriculum for partners combining real-world knowledge of high-growth mobility and collaboration market opportunities with the critical skills and services they need to succeed in this market.
  • Mobility-focused SolutionsPath Services Assessment services to help partners get more business and augment staff. The initial offerings will also include assessments to help resellers identify customers’ mobility strategies for their data centers and their abilities to enable their applications for mobile devices.
  • Activation and Integration Services: Differentiating service solutions for both the mobile data center and mobile user management markets. These services allow partners to offer their customers more mobility and collaboration solutions.

Gartner Inc. predicts enterprise businesses will spend more than $1.2 trillion in mobility in 2012.  Based on that rapid growth, solution providers must understand how to develop complete solutions for mobile enabled mission-critical apps in the data center, Bayer added.
