Accenture Acquires Provider of Pegasystems’ BPM Services
This fall, Accenture continues to broaden its portfolio of BPM services with its acquisition of Knowledge Rules Inc., a Philadelphia-based consulting company that implements and integrates business solutions based on Pegasystems’ Business Process Management (BPM) software.

The addition of a new suite of Pegasystems-focused capabilities will help expand in U.S. and European markets, according to Paul Daugherty, Accenture’s chief technology architect. Accenture’s BPM practice currently helps clients develop and operate scalable, efficient and agile business processes so they can operate more effectively and increase revenue, he added.
“Pegasystems is one of the fastest-growing software providers and is a recognized leader in the automation of BPM-based solutions. This acquisition immediately increases our capacity to implement Pegasystems-based solutions, and will enable us to train and develop more people, more quickly,” Daugherty said in a statement. “

In fact, last year Knowledge Rules was named as one of fastest growing private companies in America by Inc. Magazine. The services company focuses on helping Pegasystems BPM users improve their business by increasing market share, improving customer experiences, and reducing operational costs, Rock said at the time of the award.
Knowledge Rules CEO Ron Rock noted his company will expand on Accenture’s ability to offer customers assessment, implementation and Pegasystems management services to create what he called “a strategic global delivery model.”

Pegasystems CEO Alan Trefler described the acquisition as a win-win-win for all parties, adding that the combination of the two firms brings new capability can help organizations implement Pegasystems applications in order to improve operations—something he said was important to his company as well as the user community.
“We’ve worked very closely with both organizations, and the existing Accenture BPM team combined with the Knowledge Rules BPM team, as a result of this acquisition, brings together a group of very talented people committed to client success,” Trefler said in the statement. “We are excited that Accenture is demonstrating its commitment to Pegasystems customers by making such an important investment,”
Knowledge Rule’ methodology focuses on Pegasystems Build for Change offering, with highly specialized consulting for BPM, CRM and workflow, according to Knowledge Rules’ Chief Business Technologist Timothy Panagos. Knowledge Rules business and technical staff have experience in all phases of Pegasystems software design, implementation and support, Panagos added, including enablement services such as analysis, training, and mentoring.
