Microgen is shipping an upgrade to its Aptitude business platform process (BPP).
The latest edition, Aptitude 3.0, improves performance and functionality for its SOA-based platform, which integrates BPM, ETL, business rules, data management and process optimization for structured and unstructured data.
Microgen engineers designed Aptitude as a BPM suite that delivers data and process Management alongside decision automation, system integration and human workflow/exception management, according to company officials.
“Historically there has had to be a compromise between transaction processing performance and functionality, a dilemma now resolved by Microgen Aptitude Version 3.0,” said Microgen Chief Technology Officer Neil Thomson, in a statement.
Specifically, Aptitude 3.0 adds support for:
- High-volume transaction processing, topping 30,000 transactions per second
- Collaborative application development via a graphical interface that allows IT and business users to cooperate on all BPM steps -- model, design, generate and deploy applications
- More than 100 languages for both the underlying data and UI
- An interface to Teradata’s database
- For large messages to be processed and shared as XML
- Compliance with BPEL, BPMN, XPDL and SAP NetWeaver
Most notably, Aptitude also supports orchestration of structured and unstructured data, including Word documents, email, and even audio and video. Support includes built-in functionality for folders, indexing, versioning, archiving and document retrieval.
Aptitude’s platform was specifically designed as a Business Process Platform (BPP) to support and promote high-volume operations, as well as better IT/business collaboration across all business-related functions. The suite’s incorporates and integrates these modules:
- Business Rules and Business Process Management - to automate and manage mission critical and complex business logic
- Rapid deployment of composite applications – orchestrating and publishing services across old and new applications, delivering a true SOA environment
- Extensive data management facilities - delivering full ETL and Integration functionality
