Rackspace Doubles Cloud Channel, Expands Offerings

Rackspace Hosting officials report the number of resellers for its cloud-based applications and email has doubled in the past year.  Rackspace Cloud is rolling out new services to keep the momentum high, and to seed cloud opportunities in vertical markets.

Rackspace Hosting officials have reported it has almost doubled its network of resellers of cloud-based applications and email in the past year, and to keep momentum rolling it is launching a new set of reseller services.   Rackspace’s efforts will apply across its range of SaaS, hosting, managed services and Rackspace Cloud offering, officials said.

 

Rackspace will begin a focus on new options for channel partners and resellers, ranging from new products, expanded marketing, and more options for education and training.  Rackspace also plans new pricing structures, according to Pat Matthews, GM of the Rackspace Email & Apps division.

 

“We see expansion into vertical markets as a big opportunity for the Rackspace cloud computing business,” Matthews said in a statement.”We really believe in our channel partner strategy and our partners who already possess the expertise and networks to best represent our offerings in these markets.

 

Rackspace’s Expanding Reseller Portfolio
In the last six months, Rackspace has launched several new products to resellers.  The current portfolio includes Email Archiving, hosted Microsoft SharePoint, proprietary Rackspace Email platform, hosted Microsoft Exchange, and mobile solutions.

 

Rackspace Email & Apps resellers receive:

  • Round-the-clock Support -- Resellers have access Rackspace live support teams 24x7x365, a feature Reackspace calls “Fanatical Support.
  • Reseller Control Panel—Resellers can easily manage their customer accounts from one dashboard.
  • Personalized Branding—Resellers can brand their customer’s control panel, webmail interface, support documents, and marketing and sales literature.

 

Soon, resellers can offer Rackspace Cloud Drive and Server Backup, Matthews added.
