Sun is targeting users of WebLogic, the middleware of BEA Systems, which was acquired by Oracle, they feel will not tolerate reported price increases and who are concerned about Oracle's plans for the BEA product line. Although Oracle released a product road map for BEA products in July, the plan raises questions about the future of certain products, according to Sun.

In specific, Sun's offer states that the first 20 qualified WebLogic or Fusion customers who buy Sun SOA products will be given free WebLogic adapters so they can continue running their existing BEA infrastructure while migrating their SOA strategy away from vendor lock-in.

In addition the first 20 qualified customers can also take advantage of a free five-day SOA workshop with Sun's SOA architects who will help them identify requirements, document best practices to meet their requirements, and provide recommendations for selecting ideal SOA projects.

The offer expires on Oct. 30, 2008. More information is available on the offer here.
