perspecsysEnterprise cloud data protection company, PerspecSys Inc., reports its cloud data gateway now integrates seamlessly with SAML 2.0 identity management solutions from Symantec, RSA, Ping Identity and McAfee, among others.  This added integration aims to makes it easier for enterprise to migrate their apps to the cloud.

For enterprises that rely on SSO to secure access to public cloud applications, this means they can now easily integrate PerspecSys’ cloud data protection solution into their existing environments, according to PerspecSys CEO David Canellos.

Using PerspecSys Cloud Data Protection Gateway, enterprises can leverage SaaS apps such as Oracle CRM On Demand, Salesforce.com, Xactly Incent and others. Additionally they can also ensure their sensitive data stays on-premise and under their control and that it complies with data protection regulations, he added,

“By creating true interoperability in an enterprise security platform – tested and proven with our key partners – we can empower enterprises to not only actively leverage the cloud, but achieve compliance with data privacy regulations and sector specific mandates such as those seen in ITAR, HIPAA and PCI DSS,”  Canellos said in a statement.

The PerspecSys Cloud Protection Gateway allows organizations to protect their business data when using popular SaaS applications, such as Oracle CRM On Demand and Salesforce.com.  Information that leaves the business’ environment and enters the cloud can be “tokenized” or encrypted to ensure that data remains undecipherable when it is being processed or stored in the cloud, according to the company’s product literature.

PerspecSys Cloud Protection Gateway capabilities are:

  • At the data field level, to encrypt, tokenize, or leave data in “the clear” when it is sent to your cloud applications.
  • Manage location sensitivity through an optional reverse proxy server, can ensure the same security for remote users outside your firewall.
  • Identify and restrict access to (and use of sensitive data through) black and whitelists.
  • Restrict which data can be transferred to and from cloud applications.
  • Monitor data use for corporate and legal compliance requirements.
  • Ensure data stays where IT prescribes (e.g., on a network server, within a building or within a country).

A recent Gartner report noted it is important to enterprise IT and security professionals to be able to adopt standards-based cloud security platforms to meet multiple requirements. The report is entitled, “The Growing Importance of Cloud Access Security Brokers.”

Gartner Fellow and vice president Neil MacDonald added in a statement, “Organizations don’t want the complexity of managing siloed cloud security solutions that don’t integrate well with each other. Ideally, enterprises would use a platform for brokering cloud access security that includes interoperable identity services, encryption, tokenization, data loss prevention and other services.”
