Everware-CBDI Discusses Architecture and Specification of Information Services

Information services are the foundation of the successful SOA. The mature service architecture must manage an appropriate level of consistency and diversity of business information and evolve and maintain high levels of enterprise data integrity. A reference architecture, policy and process framework is required together with appropriate tools and platforms that enable essential automation and life cycle governance.

In the Everware-CBDI "SOA Best Practice Report, Architecture and Specification of Information Services with Progress DataXtend Semantic Integrator", sponsored by Progress Software, author David Sprott discusses the CDBI-SAE ™ Information Services Architecture Framework, the Progress DataXtend Semantic Integrator platform, how to develop a clear understanding of business information, how to define a specification view for SOA and how to establish governance over shared concepts.

Everware-CBDI Examines Governance Led Practices for Effective Semantic Integration

There is increasing understanding that consistent, high quality data is the critical success factor to delivering agile, responsive business processes. Yet delivering this is widely perceived as being very difficult. For larger enterprises the existing application and data landscape has diverse architecture and ownership, is hugely complex and constantly changing. In this environment enterprise wide data initiatives are often high risk.

What's required is a practical approach that facilitates short term business delivery projects working in a coordinated manner that progressively delivers enterprise level semantic integration with minimum short term cost or time overhead. In the Everware-CBDI "SOA Best Practice Report, Governance Led Practices to Deliver Effective Semantic Integration", sponsored by Progress Software, author David Sprott examines how a governance led approach to data and information services is necessary to deliver effective semantic integration.

Everware-CBDI Analyzes Information Services Architectures for Responsive Process Management

Business process management is evolving to incorporate dynamic response to events. Widely referred to as responsive process management, this emerging approach makes use of a closed loop pattern in which high-quality and currency operational data supports visibility, sensing and concomitant responses to complex events executed through core business capabilities.

In this environment the information services architecture must also evolve to provide a broader set of information that complements the transactional business process perspective. In the Everware-CBDI "SOA Best Practice Report, Information Services Architecture for Responsive Process Management", sponsored by Progress Software, author David Sprott examines best practice in information services architecture that enables and supports the highly dynamic process management environment.
