Dell Boomi’s Atomsphere integration platform as a service (iPaaS) is powering a menu of enterprise-class software and data cloud apps and integration services from UK-based AgilityWorks.
As a result, European customers can use AgilityWorks’ Connected Cloud Enterprise to integrate their on-premises apps and databases with Salesforce.com, Workday, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics. The AgilityWorks’ CCE is a managed cloud integration service, for midsized to large-scale enterprises, covering integration from design and build through to ongoing support of integration processes that span cloud and on-premises applications and systems.
Ian Vincent, a Technical Lead at AgilityWorks, said the Dell Boomi iPaaS provides customers “off-the-shelf, easy-to-use solutions that satisfy the widest range of use cases.”
AgilityWorks’ CCE lets companies take their IT beyond corporate firewalls to connect with outside apps and data, as well as integrate with customers and partners. The AgilityWorks’ CCE lets users “lift integration problems into the cloud,” he added. Using cloud-based apps and integration services “helps them speed up development and drive down costs while offering the governance, resources and guidance they need to meet their application goals,” according to Vincent.
In a recent blog post, Dell Boomi’s director of marketing Ralph Hibbs described the benefits an iPaaS provides a managed service provider, such as AgilityWorks:
Together Dell Boomi and AgilityWorks eliminate application integration barriers without the need for an in-house resource, reducing costs and accelerating time to value. [AgilityWorks] Connected Cloud Enterprise provides customers with an off-the-shelf, easy-to-use solution that accelerates development and drives down costs, while offering the governance, resources and guidance to meet customers’ application goals,”
Many of AgilityWork’s popular UK use cases are similar as those in the U.S. and include integration of Salesforce.com, SAP Cloud for Customer and other popular cloud-based apps with on-premises ERP apps.
A Look at Dell Boomi’s iPaaS Portfolio Services
The Dell Boomi AtomSphere iPaaS delivers a cloud service for application, data, process, and service-oriented architecture (SOA) integration scenarios. It is a multi-tenant platform that supports cloud-to-cloud, cloud-to-on-premises, on-premises-to-on-premises and B2B integration. It supports real-time integration and scales to meet the high-volume demands of mobile, extract, transform and load (ETL) and electronic data interchange (EDI) environments.
With Dell Boomi’s AtomSphere architecture, the approach to integration is configuration-based rather than code-based. As users build and modify their integration processes, they are stored in the platform's multi-tenant repository as XML. This repository contains the entire end-to-end integration process, which is deployed to a Boomi Atom for run-time execution. Key characteristics of the platform include:
- Single-instance, multi-tenant architecture
- Standards-based integration
- Real-time integration
- Crowdsourced intelligence (Boomi Suggest)
- Distributed runtime engine
- Easy-to-use, centralized management
- Predictable, affordable pricing
Dell Boomi AtomSphere iPaaS provides cloud-based integration in a multi-tenant platform, an architecture that provides AgilityWorks important advantages for its managed service provider model. Among them: Low-cost, Low complexity, Access to elasticity, scalability and multi-tenancy – and all without the need for multiple installation instances.
Further, Dell Boomi offers a tenant-isolation implementation that works at various levels of granularity -- process, data or management. This Dell Boomi iPaaS architecture means that AgilityWorks can provide this same isolation to their customers, while benefiting from the high density of a cloud-hosted iPaaS.
From a business point of view, AgilityWork’s CCE also provides customers with several cashflow advantages, including transparent fixed monthly cost: no large upfront costs or licence fees and monthly pay-as-you-go billing. AgilityWork’s CCE start at &1,950 US [1250 GBP] per month for integrating 3 distinct systems via 2 Dell Boomi connectors, and scale up for more complex needs.
