The event comes as more IT architects realize how the marriage of cloud and Big Data are offering a range of solutions that add up to value beyond the sum of their parts, Jeff Kaplan, producer of the Cloud Analytics Summit and Managing Director of THINKstrategies told IDN.

At the Cloud Analytics Summit, speakers will “share perspectives and Best Practices regarding cloud BI, Big Data and data integration solutions and strategies for success,” Kaplan said.

"A growing number of organizations are investigating cloud solutions for analytics and big data,” Kaplan said.  This interest in cloud analytics has already surfaced in three (3) core areas, he added.

  1. Built-in analytics capabilities to support real-time dashboards for business managers
  2. Behind-the-screen analytics to support the ability to let cloud providers conduct continuous monitoring, measuring and analysis of how subscribers use their cloud / SaaS solutions
  3. Abilities to aggregate the metadata gathered from across their user base to produce a powerful set of benchmark statistics to help users compare and contrast their usage patterns.

Beyond these three current opportunities, Kaplan said, cloud and Big Data partnerships are already forming to set the stage for innovative solutions to allow firms virtualize their siloed or departmental data into a unified and governable data reservoir to power Big Data solutions.
