F5 Helps Lokahi Deliver Secure Cloud Stack to Enterprises

The F5 BIG-IP Application Delivery Controllers helps power Lokahi’s Infrastructure Virtualization Engine to offer network management, disaster recovery, network security, capacity planning, and email hosting.

Lokahi’s cloud solution is designed to cut down on IT’s workload by removing the stumbling blocks to deploying applications in the cloud.

Architecturally, F5 BIG-IP line of products helps Lokahi’s Infrastructure Virtualization Engine provide a highly available and highly secure, according to Jeffrey Dahn, Founder and CEO at Lokahi. “F5…integrates extremely well with our platform,” Daly said in statement.

Lokahi’s platform provides a secure private cloud to support desktop applications, data, and servers. The architecture uses bank-grade encryption running over business internet connections high speed dedicated metropolitan fiber optic networks.

Lokahi implements a range of F5 BIG-IP products and modules, including:

BIG-IP Local Traffic Manager, an Application Delivery Networking system that provides intelligent load balancing and traffic management as well as advanced application security, acceleration, and optimization.

BIG-IP Access Policy Manager, which give customers global access to their applications and network infrastructures.

BIG-IP WAN Optimization Manager, which speeds data transfers over the WAN so that traffic between data centers is optimized, encrypted, and highly available.

BIG-IP Global Traffic Manager, which directs users to the closest or best performing data center based on traffic volume and business policy.

Lokahi also offers add-on cloud services including: off-site backup and recovery management; capacity planning; managed VPN; IDS/IPS security monitoring; and archiving and eDiscovery

Because Lokahi uses BIG-IP devices to support its cloud stack, customers anywhere can use virtual desktop infrastructure to access corporate data, software, and web applications using PCs, tablets, and mobile devices, Dahn said.

A customers who migrates its IT infrastructures to the cloud, can save money because its spending is classified as an operating expense rather than a capital expense, officials said. Additionally, customers pay only for the resources they use, and services can be scaled up or down instantly as business needs change, according to company officials.

Lokahi customers include HawaiiUSA Federal Credit Union and Rolloffs Hawaii.
