ZirMed’s business-critical cloud integration project looks to further improve its top-notch customer support capabilities by moving its home-grown customer service support desk data to Salesforce.

The Jitterbit data Salesforce integration solution allowed ZirMed to quickly adopt Salesforce as its primary CRM application, as well as synchronize its customer ticketing system (and associated data) with Salesforce. Using Jitterbit, the ZirMed team completed the migration ahead of time and under budget.

But, ZirMed’s CEO underscored that the true value of Jitterbit’s solution was the ability to seamlessly integrate and migrate on-premise applications and customer data to the cloud – without disruptions or failures. “We’ve come to depend on [Jitterbit] to seamlessly connect our infrastructure,” said Chris Schremser, CTO for ZirMed. “The integration has given ZirMed full visibility into our ticketing operations, including a list of the top call center issues, which is allowing us to provide better service to our customers.”

Jitterbit’s current cloud integration solutions come with several key designtime and runtime features that helped make ZirMed’s cloud integration project fast, easy and reliable. Among these features are:

Simple, GUI-Driven Cloud Integration. Graphical tooling allows both technical and non-technical users to configure and manage a wide range of data migration and integrations using a simple drag-and-drop UI, Sehayek said.

Jitterbit Connect wizards allow non-technical users to quickly configure integrations between cloud and on-premise applications using web services, XML, databases or flat files. The Jitterbit Connect for Salesforce wizard has been updated to support Create, Update, Upsert, and Query calls. Jitterbit 4.0 also avoids the need to manually create data transformations and operations for web service request and response calls, he added.

Jitterbit 4.0 works with Jitterbit’s recently announced CloudReplicate, which ensures constant synchronization between on-premise and cloud-based data. JitterBit 4.0 capabilities are also available directly from the cloud to easily move assets between different databases or applications.

Promoting IT/Business Collaboration. The Jitterbit 4.0 updated UI makes it easier for technical and non-technical staff to work together on data integration projects, and even allows non-technical users to do some work on their own, Sehayek said.

Jitterbit 4.0 adds automated data mapping tools, code-free transformation and formula wizards, and modes for both devs and business analysts, Sehayek said. A data transformation tool also intelligently alerts users about potential data mapping problems and conflicts between systems. In addition, a new Jitterbit Automapper can automatically map similar data fields between systems, saving time and reducing errors.

Rich Runtime Integration Environment. The Jitterbit Integration Environment makes connecting even the most complex enterprise applications simple with a standards-based approach that includes native support for the major transports and protocols that you need to reach your systems:

  • ODBC / JBDC connectivity to all major databases
  • Internet protocols including HTTP(S), FTP, S/FTP, SMTP and POP3
  • Complete XML and web services support
  • Java Messaging Services (JMS) to publish and subscribe to a leading enterprise service bus and messaging offerings (IBM WebSphere MQ, Tibco, JBoss and others) and
  • Hosted web services that allow users to publish their own web services directly from the Jitterbit UI.

All connectivity capabilities are available within a single application, allowing users to complete multiple integrations without leaving the UI. Connectivity is decoupled from the source and target systems.

Formula Builder. The formula builder includes over 100 pre-built functions that you can drag and drop directly into the workspace for stored procedures.

Data Mapping and Transformation. The Jitterbit transformation interface provides a drag-and-drop migration tool that helps update or move between old and new APIs, as needed. Migration maps can also be imported so that if a community member has already performed a migration to the new API, the system can apply those updates.

Transformation Testing. This tool provides the ability to test as you configure. Users can load source data to view sample data as you map; test a transformation made to a single target element to view the results of a formula; and test the entire transformation, the web service call or the operation to view the complete results of all work.

Project Validation. Capabilities to ease and accelerate project provisioning. The environment includes object status (operation, transformation, source, target etc.) to highlight whether the object has a valid definition or not, tests all connections and validates projects before deployment.

Jiterbit CEO George Gallegos put the ZirMed project into the perspective of the company’s broader goals for cloud-driven integration. “Creating a seamless integration between Salesforce and other on-premise and cloud applications is a challenge that more and more businesses are tackling with Jitterbit,” Gallegos said in a statement. “Jitterbit’s easy to use integration solutions not only help businesses like ZirMed deliver better customer service, but also rapidly realize the true value of their Salesforce investment.”
