CloudPointe Connect is designed to provide secure, cloud-based middleware for document and digital asset sharing and collaboration. Create secure, embeddable collaborative workspaces to share documents and media files using your existing SharePoint, Google Docs, Amazon S3 and other cloud and enterprise storage.
“Email has long been both a blessing and a challenge to the industry,” said CEO Andrew Schwabe, in a statement. “Once you send an email with an attachment, you have lost all control and that document can end up in anybody's hands.”
The improvements to CloudPointe Connect lets you send secure links to people via email. You can decide if you want recipients to save, print, comment or redistribute the documents and other files, according to company officials. Because the source content is automatically converted, recipients don’t need any specific software to view documents, videos, engineering drawings or other files.
CloudPointe Connect middleware acts as the middle-man for controlling access to your documents and digital assets. CloudPointe establishes a single-source of authenticity for all your digital assets, Schwabe added. The CloudPointe Connect upgrade allows customers to use CloudPointe Connect’s document linking technology to “point” to their source documents and digital assets, rather than attaching a specific version of a document directly to an email.
This also means there is no need to convert business documents to PDF, or Photoshop files to preview images anymore! With CloudPointe Connect, simply send a secure document link to the people who need to review a secure version of the document.
By linking to the source, users create a “single source of truth” for important documents and digital assets. Further, users can also have up-to-date access to content via website portals, mobile devices and email links, which ensures reduces risk and ensures people are suing the latest version of content.
Every time a user requests a shared file, CloudPointe always validates with your single source and ensures that the document is authentic. Because source documents and digital assets can reside in a Microsoft SharePoint repository, on Amazon S3, Google Docs, FTP or any other enterprise storage, no special software is required.
CloudPointe lets users share documents securely, without giving up control of the document and even avoid copies from forwarding copies to other people.
