ASG Ships CloudFactory Cloud Management App 
ASG Software Solutions (ASG) is shipping a cloud management application suite for private, public or hybrid clouds designed to be easily and quickly built, provisioned and managed on a uniform platform. ASG’s visionapp CloudFactory can run at a company’s own data center or through an external cloud provider.

“visionapp CloudFactory makes it easier than ever for companies to go into the cloud. The modular principle leaves the decision to the IT managers themselves, which special functions they need so that they can easily integrate it into their existing ecosystems,” Jens Schneider, Senior Vice President Portfolio Management of visionapp AG in a statement. One user interface supports fast, easy and automated installation of workplaces as well as authorization management, software maintenance or rollouts of virtual server environments, he added.
The visionapp CloudFactory consists of three core modules
CloudShaper – Cloudfactory’s backend that automates and provisions the server, operating system and application based on the virtualization platform. It provides modeling and centralized management of modern cloud environments and supports automated and flexible provisioning of servers, OSes and applications. It also provides ITIL-compliant release management, including rollback to previous statuses; audit-compliant logging and quick recovery in the event of trouble
CloudRobot – to help with automated and workflow-based provisioning of applications and services. The module also supplies processes based on standardized interfaces. It provides automated deployment of applications, services, as well as IT and business processes using standardized interfaces to control provisioning. Further, it offers extensive configurability, reports usage and supports contract management (for licensing compliance, etc.) .
CloudCockpit - CloudFactory’s frontend, which offers secure access to applications, content and services via a uniform, user-friendly user interface.
Other visionapp CloudFactory capabilities includes:
- CloudCompounder, which integrates and manages public cloud services.
- CloudAggregator, which provides the logic for automating, managing and provisioning public cloud services, as well as integrating public cloud offers.
- CloudExpander, which expands the private cloud with software from visionapp partners.
One analyst had good things to say about the visionapp CloudFactory.
“With the visionapp CloudFactory, visionapp has a very attractive offering that provides a very good coverage of cloud requirements both in medium-sized businesses and large enterprises,” said Steve Janata, Senior Analyst at Experton Group AG, in the new Cloud Vendor Benchmark 2011.
ASG completed the acquisition of visionapp AG, a leading software-as-a-Service (SaaS) and cloud platform provider last May.
