Talend, Ingres Partner on Open Source Data Management for BI, Reporting 
Talend, provider of open source data management solutions, is tying in with Ingres Corp.’s VectorWise analytic database to provide tighter integration between enterprise data and supply business users better access to timely information.
Talend, provider of open source data management solutions, is tying in with Ingres Corp.’s VectorWise analytic database to provide tighter integration between enterprise data and supply business users better access to timely information.
Talend also certified connectivity to VectorWise, to provide data integration and data quality for database for business intelligence, reporting and analytics.
“The partnership between Talend and Ingres and the native support for VectorWise will enable IT and data management professionals to seamlessly integrate data from all their enterprise systems,” said Fabrice Bonan, COO and co-founder of Talend, in a statement.
Talend’s data management solutions address the complete data lifecycle, including data integration, data quality and master data management, according to Bonan. Talend’s application integration products let organizations integrate and expand their systems and applications through SOA approaches.
Ingres’ VectorWise database comes with a database engine that leverages vector-based processing, and can leverage on-chip memory from commodity hardware to offer performance up to 70 times better than other databases at one-tenth of the cost, according to Fred Gallagher, general manager of the VectorWise business unit.
Talend's unified platform for data management covers three domains:
Data Integration – A set of powerful tools for a wide range of data integration requirements, including transformations, data migration, data capture, data replication, synchronization, application upgrades and other complex tasks.
Data Quality – A comprehensive set of features to provide detailed insight and monitoring of any business data, as well as to improve the quality and effectiveness of critical data assets. Offerings include an open source data profiling product, and a data quality product which includes capabilities for data cleansing, standardization, matching, de-duplication and data quality dashboards.
Master Data Management (MDM – An offering which unites data integration, data quality, master data and business process management in a single comprehensive solution to meet many master data challenges.
Talend has also announced the industry’s first unified platform for data services to give users a unified platform with a common development, deployment and monitoring environment for both data management and application integration.
