AFS Technologies is shipping Discovery 8, the latest update to its business intelligence solution for all aspects of the food and beverage sector, adding features that let business users slice, dice, and even pivot their data any way they want.
AFS Technologies is shipping Discovery 8, the latest update to its business intelligence solution for the food and beverage sector, adding features that let business users slice, dice, and even pivot their data any way they want.
Discovery 8’s user interface sports new icons, new time period selectors and a “pivot” view feature that lets users quickly create advanced analytics, updated rolling sorts and novel scorecard features, according to AFS’ Tim Chilson, Executive VP of On Demand Solutions. Discovery 8 enhances AFS’ suite of subscription-based BI solutions to allow users to access and analyze information in a multiple of environments and purposes, Chilson added.
Discovery 8 is available for three popular delivery platforms:
Web – to support cloud connectivity for access to large data sets and analysis;
Desktops – for offline analysis and ease-of-use for field users;
Mobile (smartphone) applications for business analysis on-the-go, Chilson added.
AFS’s Discovery BI solutions sport these features:
- Filter Folder Tree – Simplified reporting allows users to save and organize customized filters.
- Multi-tier Reporting – Features allow users to create and drill into multi-tiered reports.
- Multiple Column Filter Views – Features all users to analyze complex data by setting different conditions on multiple columns.
- Dynamic Charting – A mode to allow users to discover data trends and abnormalities using an intuitive visual format. The approach works without requiring users to surf through large quantities of information.
- Dashboard Insight – Customized graphical interfaces that provide dynamic data visualization to allow users to understand where their organization stands by an hierarchy at any moment, with respect to unique KPIs.
The latest upgrade to Discovery 8 follows AFS’ move last fall to add BI capabilities to its line of warehouse management solution software (BI for WMS),
