soa_goveranceSOA Software has rolled out new version of its Repository Manager, a development governance platform to simplify the creation, integration, management and promotion of assets and services through the complete enterprise development and provisioning lifecycle.

The new release, Repository Manager version 6.3, “allows companies to start small and put in place fine-grained governance processes as their SOA initiatives evolve and mature,” said Brent Carlson, SOA Software’s senior vice president of technology in a statement.

The update also enhances SOA Software’s closed loop service governance automation solution to let customers quickly govern and deploy services and other software assets within the SOA enterprise lifecycle from a single control point, Carlson added.

New capabilities in Repository Manager 6.3 include:

  • Impact analysis at an operation level: This feature lets enterprises can get a more detailed view of their SOA implementations.
  • Automated Virtual Policy Assignment: Working together, Repository Manager and Policy Manager automatically assign provider-side operational policies to one or more virtual services, reducing human error in the virtual service generation process.
  • Enhanced Configuration Designer:  This allows customers to more easily control their enterprise SOA governance process with updates to Repository Manager's Eclipse-based Configuration Designer, with graphical support type/template mapping, configuration of email notifications and custom validation as well as automation task management.
  • Asset Editing and Presentation Enhancements:  Adds better control over which users/roles can create what asset types.

“Repository Manager 6.3 allows companies to start small and put in place fine-grained governance processes as their SOA initiatives evolve.”
