CA’s latest offerings, all part of its configurable CA Automation Suite of offerings, include CA Configuration Automation r12, CA Process Automation r3, and CA Server Automation r12.

“Automation, orchestration and virtualization management are top priorities for enterprise and larger mid-market customers,” Mary Johnston Turner, IDC Research Director for Enterprise System Management Software, said in a statement. “These technologies are critical enablers of private cloud environments.”
In fact, a recent IDC survey found those committed to deploying a production-ready private cloud environment are almost three times more likely to be looking for automation, orchestration and virtualization management tools, compared to those without a private cloud strategy.

The following overviews summarize key CA offerings now available for virtualization, private cloud and hybrid cloud projects:
- CA Configuration Automation r12 is designed to help enable greater standardization of IT services, reduced downtime, and increase compliance with regulatory and IT security policies. It provides application and system discovery, dependency mapping, configuration monitoring and remediation across virtualized applications and servers.
Key features include:
- Granular configuration tracking and auditing;
- More than 1000 out-of-the-box application, service, compliance and system templates and policies; and
- Supports agent or agent-less approaches.
- CA Process Automation r3 is designed to help reduce operational expenses, increase productivity and speed the delivery of IT services. It provides services to document, automate, and orchestrate a range of processes across platforms, applications, and IT groups. These features provide a context of the tasks being automated to architects and help deliver quicker results.
Key features include:
- Graphical designer interface;
- Visual exception handling, and
- More than 50 data connectors (from CA and third parties)
- Supports Amazon Web Services, VMware vSphere and other cloud/virtualization environments.
- CA Server Automation r12 dynamically provisions, patches, and deploys applications and services across physical and virtual systems. It uses standard templates and key performance metrics. The latest upgrade supports Cisco UCS and new hypervisors, including Microsoft Hyper-V
CA Automation Suite for Hybrid Clouds is designed to help enterprises interested in building internal private clouds, or planning to leverage public clouds as a part of their data center strategies. It helps standardize IT service delivery to business customers through a unified, self-service reservation system and seamless administration. This solution includes CA Process Automation, CA Server Automation, CA Virtual Automation, and CA Service Catalog and Accounting.
CA Automation Suite products are available now separately or in pre-integrated bundles based on user requirements, the company said.
