Morphlabs, a provider of private and public cloud infrastructure, is rolling out a cloud management platform called mCloud On-Demand, an operational management environment that uses Amazon’s EC2 to deliver enterprise-class applications over the public cloud.
mCloud On-Demand aims to extend Amazon’s EC2 capabilities to give developers more control over the operations and management of public cloud deployments, according to Morphlabs CEO Winston Damarillo.
The platform provides an integrated cloud stack for deploying, managing and monitoring enterprise class applications, making clouds built with Amazon’s Enterprise Cloud Architecture are more reliable, automated, elastic and portable. “Morphlabs intends to provide an architecture for mission critical applications whether they are in public or private clouds,” Damarillo added.
mCloud On-Demand includes runtime and design-time features including:
- Management dashboard—mCloud On-Demand’s Dashboard lets users visualize the health of clouds, virtual machines and applications in one place.
- Self-healing and failover—When a virtual machine or application fails, mCloud On-Demand automatically restores it automatically to ensure uninterrupted access. In addition, both data and applications are backed up continuously.
- Graphical cloud design—mCloud On-Demand features a drag-and-drop interface that makes cloud design easy for users. It also offers ready-made server templates for Ruby, PHP, Java, MySQL and PostgreSQL.
- Simplified application deployment—mCloud On-Demand shortens application deployment and automatically distributes the application into different zones for better visibility and reliability.
