iDashboards Ships X Platform To Extend Enterprise BI

iDashboards X Platform adds several new user interface/user experience,  according to Shadan Malik, CEO of iDashboards. Among top add-ons are: Custom dashboard backgrounds; Ability to control chart transparency; and Capability to search across charts and dashboards. iDashboards X Platform provides our customers with a comprehensive business intelligence platform that is extremely easy to use,” Matik said in a statement.

In specific, the iDashboards X Platform extends the company’s dashboard software with alerts, analytics and reports that can:

  • Notify users in real-time when a threshold is exceeded,
  • Perform what-if analysis in real-time and dynamic calculations for real-time analytics
  • Drilldown from a dashboard to a reports
  • Embed video files with dashboards

iDashBoards’ latest X Platform also adds interactivity and user awareness features. Customers can use iDashboards to create alerts based on definable data thresholds, and set alert notifications via email to go to predefined user groups. The analytics feature lets users perform what-if scenarios within the dashboard and the reports feature allows them to display dashboard data in PDF and HTML, Matik added. 

Moreover, the iDashboards Platform X will scale BI to support up to tens of thousands of users, and can draw data from myriad enterprise data sources -- databases, data warehouses, spreadsheets, XML and others.  All these data sources can be applied used to display KPIs and business metrics in a single location. Compliance with industry standards (XML, JDBC, ODBC, LDAP) simplifies installation and maintenance.

The iDashboards official blog described the chief benefits of Platform X this way:

  • User Framework to support Web-based Flash/ Flex user interface on all browsers. System also sports secured log-in and role-based permissions.
  • Dashboard drilldown and charts can supports drilldown displays to any depth level, provides auto-filtering of data within drilldowns.
  • Real-Time User Filtering means charts can include multiple pivots, allowing users to select criteria to filter chart data
  • Custom Views  to support sticky notes on individual charts, as well as embedded text and simple Flash files within dashboard
  • Security Framework to support access restrictions, role-based permissions, SSO and SSL certificate encryption.
