StoredIQ Manages Unstructured Data in SharePoint, Exchange 2010
StoredIQ’s latest appliance for unstructured data management adds supports for Microsoft SharePoint 2010 and Microsoft Exchange 2010 and brings e-discovery, tagging, information governance and dynamic search to business content.
StoredIQ Intelligent Information Management appliance version 5, released last fall, now adds ability to manage unstructured data from Microsoft SharePoint 2010 and mail items in Exchange 2010 including calendar items, notes, tasks and contacts as well as index both private and public mailboxes a per mailbox or per server, according to the company.
The enhancements bring IT, compliance and content manages a new range of e-discovery, tagging, information governance and dynamic search to business content.
StoredIQ v5 also adds the ability to integrate with Exchange 2010’s in-place legal hold function, and the new Exchange 2010 Dumpster, to offer visibility and access into corporate email -- even after it has been “permanently” deleted by the user.
“By adding support for Exchange and SharePoint 2010, StoredIQ adds to its connector strategy for an eDiscovery solution to manage identification, preservation, collection, processing and analysis across all data sources from a single user interface, said Nick Patience, research director, information management for The 451 Group, in a statement. When shipped last October, Stored IQ Version 5.0 included classification-based access control and improved workflow between legal and IT.
StoredIQ can copy or move unstructured data into SharePoint 2010, populating fields such as authors, title, subject or setting retention values, which can speed up the deployment of a new content management system by automating data location, classification and transfer, according to the company.
