i365 Inc. is debuting its EVault Cloud-Connected Services Platform, a cloud platform that lets independent software vendors (ISVs) securely and efficiently send data to the cloud and provide their own SaaS offerings.
The EVault Cloud-Connected Services Platform is an “edge-to-cloud” storage service for storing and retrieving data from i365 Cloud’s, a company official said. Cloud-connected storage is a ‘clear must-have’ in furthering cloud adoption amongst small and mid-sized businesses, i365’s senior vice president Terry Cunningham said in a statement.
“It not only offers a cost effective, manageable way to better protect data from a site outage without the hassle and expense of building an offsite data center, but also facilitates quick recovery of critical data in the event of a site disaster,” Cunningham said.
Through its EVault Cloud-Connected Services Platform, ISVs receive:
- Cloud interfaces—Cloud APIs let ISVs integrate their on-premises application with the i365 Cloud through the service connector.
- Service connector—The on-premises service connector caches data and efficiently sends it outside the firewall via a secure network connection to the i365 Cloud.
- Secure, reliable cloud storage—The EVault Cloud-Connected Services Platform ensures that the customer’s data is secure and available.
- SaaS business & support systems—The platform includes SaaS business and support systems to accommodate different pricing and billing models; account and contract management; and levels of customer service and support.
- Product development assistance—The i365 engineering team will work closely with ISVs to ensure the integration of your applications and our platform is smooth and fast, and results in a high-performing SaaS deliverable.
i365 officials said they want to help ISVs rapidly leverage their existing software for SaaS offerings so they “can generate recurring revenues, and create new sales opportunities, with minimal upfront investment.”
The company also suggests their team will help ISVs adjust their on-going business to adopt to a cloud-based subscription business model. The company’s website tells ISVs interested in providing SaaS options the following: “Your customers will like being able to cut capital costs by licensing your application as a subscription—and they’ll like the assurance that their data is safely stored offsite in our world-class data centers.”
I365’s EVault Cloud-Connected Services Platform is available to ISV partners. Cunningham said i365’s offerings for ISVs “cover all needed areas of cloud storage,” and include maintaining a mirrored copy of onsite backup data to the cloud and let ISV’s connect existing applications into the cloud.
