Compuware, OpSource Team Up for Cloud SLAs, Performance Monitoring
OpSource, a leading cloud operations provider, is partnering with CompuWare’s Gomez web performance division to deliver customers better performance monitoring options for cloud users, and help them ensure their cloud-based applications continue to meet service level agreements (SLAs).
OpSource and CompuWare’s Gomez web performance division and cloud operations provider are partnering to help customers maintain control and visibility of their applications once they go into the cloud. Offerings will include performance monitoring and support for service level agreements (SLAs) from the cloud.
Under the partnership, OpSource will resell Gomez’s Web performance management tool and use Gomez to validate and monitor SLAs of its own cloud performance, company officials said. OpSource provides cloud operations, infrastructure and services for a wide range of firm, including SaaS, ISVs, end user enterprises and SMBs.
OpSource provides a variety of cloud operations options tuned for enterprise, web and SaaS (Software as a Service providers), including enterprise-class cloud infrastructure and fully-managed hosting and application management. Using Gomez, OpSource businesses can now test applications before they are deployed and monitor them in production, so their customers can receive excellent Web experiences for applications deployed in the cloud, the companies said.
Together, OpSource and Gomez will help cloud evaluators / adopters assess, test and conduct on-going monitoring. Further, the technology partnership will provide prospects and customers data and visibility to conduct these key functions:
- Measure impact of cloud infrastructure and configuration on end-user experience under normal and peak conditions
- Validate cloud-bursting configurations and solutions
- Monitor performance and availability of cloud-deployed applications
- Monitor SLA compliance
- Optimize performance in cloud application delivery chain while reducing cost
“Application performance is a major concern of enterprises evaluating the cloud,” Richard Dym, OpSource CMO said in a statement. “By offering Gomez’s… Web performance monitoring, we are helping customers maintain visibility and quality control of their application’s performance while reaping the cost and scalability benefits of the cloud. This will help the cloud grow even faster than imagined.”
“By partnering with Gomez, OpSource is enhancing its leadership in the cloud operations space and proving to prospects and customers that strong application performance in the cloud is realistic,” said Tom Meusel, Vice President of Worldwide Channels, Gomez division, Compuware, in the statement.
